This page is for Candy who is a sweetheart . Her mom is actually a smooth coated Brussels Griffon. April and I had talked about doing this cross also but did not want to bring in a dog just to use for one time as it would not be fair to the dog. But if you look at some of the pics on the Yahoo original site you will see they do look a lot like them . Pugs were used in the Brussels Griffon way back a long time ago and have the black and rust coloring. Jennifer was one of the first people using the Brussels in her breeding Program .
When we first got Candy she had such a funny look we kept calling her monkey face and that is a nick name the Brussels has also . But we also knew from the begining she was going to be tall and lanky and thin. She has unfortunately proved us true in that respect. She is our tallest and thinest looking Carlin. But she is such a love and so sweet.
It is hard to say but Candy is no longer with us. . In december someone broke into my home and let the dogs out and I lost her and munchkin and some pups .. Luckily I still have two pups from her a male and female who have turned out really nice especially the male . So I look to see great things from them as they mature.
We were not sure we were going to breed her but we are still watching her and think I may do one breeding with her to see what she will produce with a male who has good bone density and definitely not as tall. Nero is the first candidate but seeing as Beau has thrown good bone I am undecided at the moment.
Back to Candy , she is just such a sweet heart , she never wants to leave our side , she could also be a high jumper for sure , we do not see how she can jump so high. She was sick at about 4 months and she has stuck like glue ever since. She is also a talker.
She was bred to Nero to see what she could produce for us and also to help fill her out . I hope all goes well for her.and we get some nice pups . If not she will be spayed and just be a couch potatoe.
Well she had her pups and they were 4 black and rust except for one fawn pup and two silver. She is such an awesome mom with the pups , she doesn't want any other mom to go near them and is very loving with the pups and doesn't want to leave them except to go to the bathroom .She was great having them and she had them on June 30th at 2 am.
She has been terrific with the pups and still does not want to be away from them for long and so far they have turned out wonderfull and look great .Better even so far than we thought they would be . So it looks like Nero is also going to be a great asset to the breeding program. We will just have to wait to see how they actually turn out.
